Shackleton and some of his men set off on an 800 mile voyage to find help in the lifeboat 'James Caird'. The rest of the men are waving goodbye. It will be months until they are rescued.
For 6 weeks this winter I was based in the Working Artists Studio, Skibbereen. Inspired by what a news report called 'an unprecedented weather event' I created a series of drawings about the shared dramas to be found in the ice and snow.
